The new MajiData, the database of the Kenyan Water Sector, contains updated annual data for decision-making processes and reporting including information on water supply and sanitation services for WSPs and counties’ performance, map and data presentation and projects in urban low income areas.
The former MajiData was the pro-poor database of the Kenyan water sector covering all urban low income areas in Kenya. A comprehensive data collection exercise started in 2009 and ended in 2011. More than 1,800 urban low income areas found in the 212 cities and towns of Kenya were mapped and captured. In 2016 the decision was made by WSTF and WASREB not to only update MajiData but rather to set-up a modern database that will be connected to all existing ICT-tools of the sector institution with the support of GIZ.
